JKF Classic Venue Changed To Morocco Shrine Center
JACKSONVILLE, FL - February 22, 2008 - The 5th annual Jacksonville Kayak Fishing Classic is rapidly gaining momentum with over 230 anglers registered for the May 2-3 event. Due to the unprecedented growth of kayak fishing and the expectation of another record-setting field the Classic has moved to the Morocco Shrine Center at 3800 St. Johns Bluff Rd. Both the May 2nd Captain's Meeting and the May 3rd Check-in and Banquet venues have been shifted to the Morocco Shrine Center.
The tournament, run by JaxKayakFishing.com, is the world’s largest kayak fishing tournament with over $55,000 in prizes and gifts from 100 sponsors. Proceeds from Jacksonville’s premier eco-tourism event benefit children’s programs for abused and neglected kids at Daniel Memorial, Florida’s oldest children’s services agency, and Dignity-U-Wear.
Anglers will launch at first light Saturday May 3rd at any inshore location in the Duval, St. Johns, or Nassau county area, and seek redfish, trout, and flounder in a conservation-oriented catch-photo-release format. After fishing there is a check-in, raffles, BBQ banquet, and awards ceremonies at the Morocco Shrine Center in Jacksonville, FL. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the kayak fishing camaraderie and festivities.
Kayak fisherman can register at www.JacksonvilleKayakFishingClassic.com or can also pick up an entry form at Strike-Zone Fishing, Black Creek Outfitters, Army Navy Outdoors, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Gander Mountain. More information, rules, and prize details are also available online.
